Irvine Regional Park
OC's oldest regional park — 477 acres of oaks, lawns, a lake, train rides, and the OC Zoo, all in Orange.
🌟 Why Locals Go Here
It's the OC kids' park done right — zoo, train, paddle boats, lake, and big shaded lawns under century-old oaks.
What to Expect
Wide grass meadows, paved roads through the park interior, paddle-boat lake, family attractions clustered near the entrance, and trails climbing into the surrounding foothills.
💡 Good to Know Before You Go
Per-vehicle entry fee on weekends and holidays (lower on weekdays). The OC Zoo and train have separate fees. Reservations recommended for picnic shelters.
📍 Local Tip
Weekday mornings are dramatically quieter than weekends. The Puma Ridge / hill trails on the south end of the park are how locals turn a family day into a real walk.
Best Time to Visit
Spring for green hills; fall for cooler weekend afternoons under the oaks.
