By Everything LA Editorial
LA's dining and nightlife scene is world-class but geographically scattered. If going out is central to your lifestyle, living in the right neighborhood means walking to dinner, skipping Uber surges, and being part of a genuine scene rather than commuting to one.
The Best Neighborhoods for Going Out
1. West Hollywood — The undisputed nightlife champion. Sunset Strip, Santa Monica Blvd clubs and bars, design district restaurants. You can go out every night for a year and not repeat.
2. Silver Lake — LA's indie dining and bar capital. Sunset Blvd restaurants, reservoir-adjacent wine bars, live music at The Satellite. More low-key than WeHo.
3. Downtown LA — Rooftop bars, speakeasies, Grand Central Market, Arts District wine bars and galleries. The most variety in the smallest area.
4. Hollywood — Tourist-heavy on the boulevard, but side streets hide excellent bars and restaurants. Best value for central nightlife access.
5. Venice / Abbot Kinney — Coastal dining, Rose Ave brunch culture, Venice Ale House. More daytime-oriented but strong evening options too.
6. Koreatown — 24-hour Korean BBQ, karaoke rooms, soju bars, and some of LA's best casual dining. Unmatched for late-night food.
