🌲 Moonridge

Moonridge is Big Bear's premier mountain-resort neighborhood — the corridor immediately surrounding Bear Mountain Resort, with the Big Bear Alpine Zoo as a beloved community anchor. The forest here feels denser than the lakefront city core, with taller pines, more shade, and a more wooded residential character.

Moonridge is divided locally into Upper Moonridge (the higher-elevation pocket closer to Bear Mountain) and Lower Moonridge (the lower, flatter band closer to Big Bear Blvd). Both share the forested feel, but Upper Moonridge skews toward more dramatic terrain and resort-access homes, while Lower Moonridge has more traditional family lots.

For ski families, Moonridge is the most convenient address in Big Bear after Fox Farm. The Bear Mountain base is on the neighborhood's edge, the Alpine Zoo is a short walk for many residents, and the forest-trail network connects directly to the resort terrain.
