🏔️ Viewpoint

Big Bear's stretch of the Pacific Crest Trail — accessible via Cougar Crest, Doble Trailhead, and other crossings.

The Pacific Crest Trail passes directly through the Bear Valley as Section C of the Southern California PCT. The trail runs roughly east–west across the mountains north of Big Bear Lake, with day-hike access at Cougar Crest, the Doble Trailhead, Onyx Summit, and the Holcomb Creek crossing. Section hikers stage in Big Bear regularly — and locals can sample world-famous trail by walking just a few miles in either direction from any access point.
